My experience is limited since I have only done the agility so far. Overall I really like ZOOM ROOM, the people are nice, the classes are fun and it is really easy to fit into a busy schedule, but I think it is best for a dog who is already well trained and confident and for an owner who knows what they are doing (and are not afraid to speak up if their dog isn't ready for something). at least for the agility, you are pushed through the course one by one very quickly and if there are only 1-2 dogs in your class that day then your dog will get tired very quickly and you are not always given enough breaks. It can be dangerous and traumatizing to toss a dog up on a HIGH seesaw without teaching them how to walk it first. Also, dogs are allowed on potentially dangerous equipment without much time spent (if any) on getting them comfortable with it. most training facilities do NOT allow this since the possibility of reactive dogs is high. Safety: Dogs are allowed to get close and greet each other. I really enjoy the staff where I go, but it is very clear that they do not have the experience to address major problems or take dogs further than very basic training.(Probably varies by location).Īs a franchise, I imagine that quality and methods vary by location It is a franchise and NOT a training facility. Private gyms are fairly inexpensive and give you a great place outside of home to train. You can progress quickly through classes if your dog is successful (aka you can move from agility 1- agility 3 in just a class or two if your dog shows skills).

Primarily positive reinforcement and happy atmosphere You can go to scheduled classes whenever you want, usually able to sign up the morning of class. I go to ZOOM ROOM (in MD) with my dog for agility. They'll evaluate her too so I'll know exactly where my skills and her learning is at within the training I have been doing. What do you guys think? Anyone heard of these guys before? Do you think I'm just wasting my money ($175 for 6 weeks) or is it worth a shot? It's the Shy Dog workshop down at the bottom. Then when the little baby boxer started barking Babs was growling and barking.īabs will be 1 year old in October and I've decided she's just going to be a shy dog but I wanted to try out this Zoom Room for shy dogs to see if it can improve her. Instead of being relieved Babs played super anxious and laid on her back and exposed her belly. Babs reluctantly went up to the other boxer and the other boxer began to lick Babs. One was a puppy and the other was 1 year old. We found 2 other boxers the other day in the park. Upon a passing dog, she doesn't lunge but just keeps her distance and might bark. She growls and barks a bit when other dogs are around or sometimes just her hair stands up. I was hoping I would be the one to help train it out of her or that somehow she magically just would be o.k.
